Rutland Bed & Breakfast

St_Marys, Manton, Rutland

Rutland is a very small county in England which is only about 18 miles (29 km) wide at its very widest. The county town of Rutland is Uppingham and besides this there is only one other town in the county, Oakham. The amount of land in the county is further reduced by the fact that at the very centre of the county is Rutland Water, a reservoir of similar size (surface area) to Windermere in the Lakes. Rutland Water is a great place to visit if you are interested in bird watching and there are a few other visitor attractions such as the excellent Rutland Railway Museum in Ashwell. Another museum worth a visit is the Rutland County Museum in Oakham where you will also find Oakham Castle.
