Wiltshire is a county in the South West of England. The county town of Wiltshire is Trowbridge but prior to 1930 it was the town of Wilton. One of the most famous places in the county is Salisbury Plain where you will find one of England's most famous ancient landmarks, Stonehenge stone circle (pictured above). Besides Salisbury Plain there are several other areas of countryside in Wiltshire, Cranborne Chase, Marlborough Downs, Vale of Pewsey. Places of interest include Ashcombe House, Cherhill White Horse, Lacock Abbey, Wardour Castle and many more.
