England is one of the countries which make up the United Kingdom of Great Britain. At one time the country ruled a large proportion of the world (the British Empire) but today the power of the UK government to dictate the rest of the world is vastly diminished. With such a long and influential history it is not really that surprising that there are historic sites of importance all over England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. For much of the country's history it was ruled by a monarchy which still exists today. Even though the political power of English kings and queens is virtually nill those powers that remain can still have some impact. The vast majority of visitors to England have some interest in the British monarchy and few tourists who visit London (the capital city of England) will not visit at least one place associated with them. In fact many of the top English tourist attractions have Royal connections.

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation In England

B&B (bed and breakfast) accommodation in England is usually of a very high standard but to be sure that you are booking a room that will meet your expectations you should always take a look at the star rating of your chosen hotel, guest house, inn or b&b establishment. There are a number of organisations which issue a star rating and they are roughly comparable. The higher the number of stars awarded the higher the quality of accommodation and services offered. So a 5 star hotel or guest house should, in theory, offer far better accommodation and services than, say, a 3 star b&b. This is not 100% accurate as, obviously, some establishments improve while others suffer and therefore we suggest taking a look at the "guest rating" of your chosen place to stay. You can access this information by clicking on the "click to book" image. Once you click on the said image you will be taken to a page containing much more information about the accommodation together with an availability form from which you can place a booking.
