Hull Bed & Breakfast

Hull is a city in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Correctly speaking Hull is actually named Kingston upon Hull having been renamed "Kings town upon Hull" by King Edward I in 1299. The area has been inhabited since the early Neolithic period and was favoured for it's position on the Humber Estuary and the navigable rivers but it was rather remote. In the 12th century monks founded Wyke upon Hull which was purchased from them by King Edward I who developed a port to support the First War of Scottish Independence. Much of the local economy focused on the sea (transport of cargo, fishing etc.) and chemical industries. Today there is certainly plenty to keep the visitor entertained and besides a few museums there are many historic buildings to visit.
