Newbury is a large town in the county of Berkshire, England. Like nearby Hungerford, about 10 miles (16 km) away, Newbury is situated on the Kennet and Avon Canal (pictured above). The town is also situated on the beautiful River Kennet and you will find plenty of 17th century buildings in the town centre. Superb transportation links, the town has two train stations, make the town an excellent place to base yourself for a vacation if you want to explore Berkshire while also being within reasonable distance of London for a day trip or two.
