Argyll and Bute Bed & Breakfast

Fingal's Cave, Island of Staffa, Argyll and Bute, Scotland

Argyll and Bute is a council area in the south west of Scotland. The area includes a great many islands which accounts for the incredible amount of coastline (3,000 miles / 4,800 km)). Obviously it will come as little surprise to learn that there are many beaches in Argyll and Bute with one of the finest sandy beaches being that of Kiloran Bay on Colonsay. One of the most famous Argyll and Bute sights requires a boat trip to the island of Staffa to view the "basalt cathedral" of Fingal's Cave (pictured above). Other noteable landmarks include McCaig's Tower which looks out across the town of Oban, built as an imitation of Rome' Colosseum but never completed, the folly appears like an ancient monument but was actually built in 1897.
