Stirling Castle from Stirling Bridge

Stirling is one of the 32 local gvernment council areas of Scotland and the administrative centre is the city of Stirling. The bulk of the area is rural highland ground which has a number of towns and villages (including Aberfoyle, Callander, Crianlarich and Dunblane) but is sparcely populated with a total population well under 100,000. Places of interest include Stirling Castle and Stirling Bridge (pictured above), Doune Castle, the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and the Wallace Monument.
