Ceredigion is a coastal county, and former kingdom, in mid-west Wales. The main settlements are Aberaeron, Aberarth, Aberystwyth, Cardigan, Lampeter, Llanddewi Brefi, Llandysul, Llanilar, Llanrhystud, New Quay, Penparcau and Tregaron. Ceredigion is highly popular with tourists some of whom travel to the wonderfully clean sandy beaches while others head for the Cambrian Mountains in the east of the county. Aberystwyth is the largest town in Ceredigion, and one of the most popular vacation destinations with such attractions as Aberystwyth Castle and the Aberystwyth Electric Cliff Railway.
